The organizers of the 2010 Panel & Engineered Lumber International Conference & Expo have released the draft agenda for the conference portion of the event. (download the complete agenda)

PELICE is scheduled for February 4-6, 2010 at the Omni Hotel at CNN Center in downtown Atlanta, Georgia. It is co-sponsored by Panel World magazine and Georgia Research Institute.

Nearly 70 industry professionals have agreed to participate in the program. It features the Conference Opening Keynote addresses on the evening of February 4, General Sessions on each morning of February 5 and February 6, Luncheon speakers on February 5, and concurrent sessions on February 5 and February 6 covering Structural Products, Technologies and Issues, Non-Structural Products Technologies and Issues, Resins and Adhesives, and Energy to Emissions.

Art Schmon, principal with Forest Economic Advisors and a veteran of the engineered wood products business, will address “The Way Forward: The Outlook for Engineered Lumber Products in 2010 and Beyond” during the Conference Opening on the evening of February 4. Also, Anders Gustafson, CEO of BRUKS AB, will address “How Energy is Driving the Global Forest Products Equipment Market.”

General Session speakers on the morning of February 5 include John Godfrey, panel industry entrepreneur on “Successfully Launching A Mill Project: You Won’t Get Rich If You Go Broke Trying”; Daniel Cromie, principal with Atlas Holdings, speaking on “Capital—Human and Financial Are Key to Private Company Success in a Challenging Economy”; Arauco Business Unit Manager, Scott Wiles, will speak on “Arauco’s Environmental Commitment”; and Arclin President and CEO Claudio D’Ambrosio, will address “Doing Business in Radically Different Times: A Bonding and Surfacing Provider’s Perspective.”

General Session speakers on the morning of February 6 include Dale Plant, President of Hexion Forest Products Div. on “Sustainability, Green, Market Rebound”; Douglas Reiter, President, The Douglas Reiter Company, on “Career Management: Your Company’s and Your Own”; Jim Davis, President, Davis & Associates, on “What You Always Wanted to Know About Sales Timing, But Were Afraid To Ask”; and Stuart Clarke, President, Clarke Veneers, on “Making the Most from Non-Traditional Veneer Species.”

Speakers for the paid luncheon on February 5 include Tom Julia, President of Composite Panel Assn., on “The Road To Stewardship on Formaldehyde: How Unlikely Partners Are Forging A New Approach to Regulation, and Why It Matters”; and Roger Tutterow, Professor of Economics, Mercer University, on “Economic Factors Impacting A Housing and Non-Res Recovery.”
